Bloomin' Onion Roll with Oven Roasted Garlic

A twist to a favorite. Adding garlic to the already delicious Bloomin' Onion Roll. Instead of using a regular size sourdough bread which feeds an entire family I used a mini sourdough roll. It looks small but after stuff it with all the cheese it actually gets really big. Enough for two! Appetizer!

Serves: 2

Prep Time: 45 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

1 Sourdough Rolls
8 to 10 Slices Monterey Jack Cheese, sliced into ½ inch pieces
1 Tbsp Melted Butter
1 Stalks Scallions, chopped
1 Oven Roasted Garlic (recipe)

Baking Sheet
Aluminum Foil

Directions:

- Preheat the oven to 350˚F.
- Cut the bread lengthwise and widthwise-without cutting through the bottom crust. (Much easier with a bread knife)
- Squeeze out the garlic and mash into a paste. Spread paste using butter knife between the cuts.
- Place the roll on the aluminum foil. Insert cheese between the cuts.
- Drizzle melted butter over the roll.
- Toss green onions over the roll.
- Bake the roll for 15 minutes.
- Unwrap the foil, and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
